Adam Penberthy

Adam Penberthy (President)

Things you couldn't live without:  Sadly my blackberry...
Favourite food: Indian or Italian
Dream job:   Hmmm maybe an actor
Favourite Holiday Destination:  Maldives
I aspire to be:  A leader in my sector who is well regarded and successful
Success is...Fuelled by enthusiasm
Why did I get sourced? I always love opportunities to meet likeminded people and particularly people who are wanting to start their own bueinsss...when I heard about it, it was a given!

In late 2006, and over a couple of beers, and plenty of napkins Adam Penberthy came up with the idea for FRESH, a dynamic youth advertising agency based here in Brisbane working with clients across Australia and abroad in the US and Asia developing campaigns centred around people between the ages of 13 and 30 years (aka Gen Y).  Adam is a born entrepreneur - starting his first commercial business at age 13, and employing his first full time staff member to run the company at age 16 whilst he was at high school.

FRESH now works with clients including Griffith University, Queensland Police, Queensland Transport, the Victorian Government, AOT Holidays, Wellspring International, Optus and many more on strategies and campaigns geared at engaging this media savvy and elusive audience.  As a result of the companies specialty, Adam has become a key commentator in the media and conference speaker about his generation and ways to communicate more effectively with them.

Directly before kicking off FRESH, Adam worked extensively with Optus, starting on the bottom rung and working his way up the ranks, finishing up as Regional Area Manager at age 21 (the youngest in the country).

Karla Hannant

Karla Hannant (Secretary)

Things you couldn't live without - my family and friends definitely and overseas travel.
Favourite food - I love Asian food, especially Thai although cheese platters with a good glass of wine are hard to beat as well.
Dream job - to be an Executive Manager within a small but reputable international company. Something that allowed me to travel and use my organisational development, change management and project management skills.
Favourite holiday destination - Switzerland or the Greek Islands ... too hard to decide between the two.
I aspire to be - someone that travels the world, has a rewarding career and enjoys everyday as it comes (both the good and testing times).
Finish this sentence - success is in the mind of the beholder. Personally I see success as maintaining financial freedom, having close family and friends, enjoying a good balance of work and play and maintaining an optimistic view on life even when you are thrown the occasional curve ball.
Why did I get sourced? For the opportunity to meet like minded young professionals in Brisbane across all industry sectors. I wasn't able to find anything else in Brisbane that matched this criteria so I jumped on board with the executive crew of ‘The Source'.

Ang Li

Ang Li (Treasurer)

Things you couldn't live without: My laptop
Favourite food: pub grub
Dream job: a farmer.
Favourite Holiday Destination: Beyond the black stump - as far away from
civilisation as possible.  There's only so much sanity a man can handle.
I aspire to be: a great innovator at the forefront of the creativity!
Success is... to be what I want to be and be around people who I want to
be with.
Why did I get sourced? Life is all about growth - whether it'd be
professional or personal growth.  One way to expediate this was to
cultivate my networks by mixing with the brightest and the most creative
people out there.  The Source is an association that specifically fosters
and seek out all such persons.  There's nothing else like it!  Are you
ready to get saucy?

Success is...whatever you make it. It is all up to you.
Why did I get sourced? Because it's an association that is fun and
fosters personal and professional growth. I'm sure that it will be a big
hit in 2009 among Brisbane's young business community!

Things you couldn't live without:  I like to think I'm fairly adaptable... as long as I have my Freedom!
Favorite food: HELL Pizza
Dream job: Working for Apple while exploring space :D
Favorite Holiday Destination: Any warm remote beach with some water toys, decent sounds and my iTunes
I aspire to be: Successful
Success is... Being able to do what you want to do...
Why did I get sourced? I have planned to give something back to the community one way or another, seeing as I'm not loaded (yet) and cleaning tags with rags isn't exactly my style I looked elsewhere. When I heard about the source it was like it jumped right onto my lap - I could see myself getting involved already after hearing only very little. As we say it unofficially, meeting a group of forward-thinking, opportunity-grabbing, pack-leading business people sounds like a good way to go about giving a little back - what do you think?
